Southern Leyte State University signs Technology Licensing Agreement with Five Shepherds Corporation
Southern Leyte State University successfully concluded the Ceremonial Signing of the Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) between SLSU and Five Shepherds Corporation on December 10, 2025, at the RIES Training Hall. This milestone recognizes Five Shepherds Corporation as a key industry partner in bringing SLSU innovations to the market, and highlights the licensing of the Coconut Splitter, invented by Engr. Jose P. Monteroso of Southern Leyte State University.
Grounded in SLSU’s Vision and Mission of producing globally competitive, values-driven professionals and generating relevant knowledge and innovations for community development, the University reinforces its role as a responsive and transformative institution. The TLA signing also supports SLSU’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by enabling innovations that strengthen local value chains, improve processing efficiency, and promote sustainable solutions.
As SLSU moves forward with its innovation and commercialization agenda, the University reaffirms its commitment to transforming research into practical solutions that benefit communities and promote sustainable development.
