SLSU produces 85 newly licensed teachers
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) has produced a total of 85 newly licensed teachers for both elementary and secondary education during the 2021 September Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on November 29.
Four (4) campuses of the university offer elementary and secondary education programs and were able to produce a number of passers from the Main Campus, San Juan Campus, Hinunangan Campus, and Tomas Oppus Campus where the CTE is situated.
SLSU garners an impressive rating of 86.16% for the first-time takers in elementary level, while 76.14% in secondary across the 4 campuses.

The PRC and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announced that 4,883 elementary teachers out of 8,726 examinees with 55.96 percent, and 10,318 secondary teachers out of 17,863 examinees with 57.76 percent passing percentage for the LET given on September 26 in 26 testing centers all over the Philippines.
It is further announced that of the 4,883 elementary teacher passers, 3,908 are first-timers and 975 are repeaters while for the secondary teachers, 9,286 passers are first-timers and 1,032 are repeaters.
Topping the LET for elementary level is Rowena Bongolto of Mindanao State University garnering a 92.2% rating, while Vincent Bayawa of Cebu Normal University and Roslyn Vea Damasco of the University of the Philippines-Diliman topped the secondary level with 93.4%.
The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination will be announced later, PRC announced.
