In a major leap toward global academic-industry collaboration, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Sino-German (Hunan) Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center on April 10, 2025, at Changsha, Hunan Province, China.
The partnership was formalized during the Hunan-ASEAN-Germany Conference on Industry-Education Integration, which served as a platform to empower the development of new quality productivity across China, ASEAN, and Germany. It was the MOA signing that catapulted SLSU to be one of the emerging players in international academic cooperation.
Representing SLSU were Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, Jr., the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, Director for External Linkages and International Affairs, who took part in strategic dialogues and collaborative exchanges designed to align educational systems with global industrial trends. This exclusive summit and conference brought together university leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from China, ASEAN, and Germany.
The Sino-German (Hunan) Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center operated by Zurbrüggen, Germany, under the support and guidance of the Changsha Municipal Government, is a center that promotes cooperation in Industry 4.0, intelligent manufacturing, and digital transformation through collaborations with institutions like Central South University and Hunan University.
