SLSU TO Science Education Faculty Wins Best Proposal at Research Funding Seminar-Workshop
The Science Education Faculty of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) triumphed at the seminar-workshop titled “Packaging Research Proposals for Funding,” held on October 10-11, 2024, at the AS Conference Hall, UP Tacloban College, Tacloban City, Leyte. The event sought to equip educators and researchers with the skills necessary to effectively formulate and present research proposals for potential funding.
Participants engaged in various talks, including insights on funding sources in the Philippines by Dr. Edelyn Echapare and strategies for formulating research objectives by Dr. Carlo Chris Apurillo. Day one was focused on interactive workshops where attendees justified their research proposals, receiving constructive feedback on their outputs, which included the title, objectives, background, and significance of their studies. The first day concluded with presentations and critiques of the proposals which fostered a collaborative environment for learning. On day two, the focus shifted to research design and methods, facilitated by Dr. Rolly G. Fuentes, followed by sessions on crafting line-item budgets and work plans led by Dr. Ernil D. Sumayao. The final workshop culminated in a mock proposal presentation which allowed participants to showcase their improved proposals. The seminar concluded with a closing program where certificates were awarded, and the best proposals were announced.
SLSU TO Science Education Faculty’s proposal garnered recognition which reflects their dedication and the quality of their research preparation.
