SLSU-MCC Conducts Hands-On Training on PPMP Formulation using PMIS and RIES-MIS
On November 6, 2024, Southern Leyte State University-Maasin City Campus (SLSU-MCC) recently conducted a Hands-On Training on PPMP Formulation using Procurement Management Information (PMIS) and Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Management Information System (RIES-MIS). The said training aims at equipping faculty and staff with the skill to make informed, strategic procurement decisions that align with the institution’s mission and regulatory standards, ultimately fostering efficiency and transparency. The said training was held at the Campus Director’s Conference Room, SLSU-MCC, Maasin City.
Madonna Grace D. Jacobe, Administrative Officer, opened the said event with her welcome message highlighting the importance of familiarity with PMIS and RIES-MIS, which helps ensure that faculty and staff of SLSU-MCC are up-to-date with current procurement policies and standards. Mailen L. Gonzales, Procurement Officer, and Rannie M. Sumacot, Coordinator, Research & Innovation, took charge in expounding on the training’s purpose, which is to make informed, strategic procurement decisions that align with the university’s mission and regulatory standards, ultimately fostering efficiency, transparency, and collaboration among faculty members.
Samuel D. Tamaub, Information System Analyst II; Nestnie Honrada, Information Systems Head; and Jerald Tomboc, Programmer, spearheaded the demonstrations and hands-on training proper as the resource speakers of the said activity. The demo and training proper comprehends staff’s proficiency in these systems that can streamline the planning and budgeting processes, reduce errors, and observing time management. This efficiency allows staff to allocate more time to core educational responsibilities for their students.
The said event is anchored on SDG 16, which emphasizes the importance of fostering an effective, accountable, and inclusive institution. By equipping faculty and staff with the skills to plan and manage procurement processes transparently and efficiently. Dr. Frederick C. Aniga, Campus Director, officially closed the said hands-on training with his eloquent closing remarks.
