FHTM celebrates Faculty Day through Kasadya sa FHTM
The Faculty of Hospitality, Tourism, and Management (FHTM) of Southern Leyte State University successfully celebrated the Faculty Day through “Kasadya sa FHTM” on February 23, 2026, at the FHTM Grounds.
Organized by the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students as part of their Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) subject, the event commenced with a vibrant street dance parade that showcased the students’ creativity, unity, and strong sense of cultural pride.
During the opening program, University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte delivered an inspiring welcome message, encouraging students to continually strive for excellence in their chosen fields. The presence of Dr. Constantino Medilo Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with the faculty members, demonstrated the administration’s steadfast support for the students and the FHTM program.
Among the highlights of the celebration were the dynamic Dance Festival Contest and the exciting On-the-Spot Showdown of Festival Queens, where candidates confidently exhibited their poise and charisma, delighting the audience. A series of games and skills competitions also provided opportunities for Hospitality Management (HM) and Tourism Management (TM) students to showcase their talents and competencies.
The celebration concluded with the awarding of Dean’s Listers and the recognition of competition winners. An open mic session followed, allowing students and faculty to freely express their talents and creativity.
