SLSU equips DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Program beneficiaries through Bibliometric Analysis Training-Workshop
Southern Leyte State University, through the Office of Research, Innovation, and Publication Services, conducted the Online Bibliometric Analysis Training-Workshop for SLSU–DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work Program beneficiaries on June 18–19, 2026. The two-day activity brought together college graduates and student beneficiaries under the Cash-for-Work Program for a meaningful learning experience aimed at strengthening their research knowledge, analytical skills, and appreciation of evidence-based studies.
The training highlighted the partnership between SLSU and DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS in promoting capacity-building, skills development, and academic growth among the beneficiaries. Through hands-on sessions, participants were introduced to bibliometric analysis as a practical tool for identifying research trends, exploring relevant topics, analyzing scholarly publications, and developing data-driven research directions.
Research Assistants Mr. Stephen V. Naul, Ms. Shaine Justin Lagunda, and Ms. Liezel H. Lucero served as resource speakers and facilitators for the activity. They guided the participants through key concepts and applications of bibliometric analysis, ensuring an interactive and engaging workshop experience.

The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive learning opportunities; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by developing practical skills for future academic and career pathways; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, by encouraging research-based innovation and data-driven thinking; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening collaboration toward shared development outcomes.
Through this activity, SLSU continues to bring research learning closer to the community, helping young graduates and student beneficiaries gain valuable competencies for their academic and professional growth. More than a training-workshop, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to inclusive education, research capability-building, and community-centered development.
