Southern Leyte State University forms International Alliance with Kazakhstan’s NSJC Astana Medical University and Global Health Focus University Excellence
Through a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) established a global partnership with NSJC Astana Medical University of Kazakhstan, alongside Global Health Focus University Excellence. The momentous ceremony took place on March 4, 2024, showcasing a commitment to global health initiatives through the utilization of Geographic Information System
The ceremony was graced by distinguished figures, including SLSU President, Dr. Jude A. Duarte, and Vice Presidents Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, and Dr. Dewoowoogen P. Baclayon.
Representatives from Global Health Focus University Excellence, including Managing Director Dr. Don Eliseo Lucero Prisno, were also present, along with key officials from Astana Medical University, led by Vice Rector Vitaliy Viktorovich Koikov.
This collaborative initiative was established through the active involvement of the GIS Tech Center and Office of External Linkages and International affairs of SLSU, offering its resources and expertise. These parnership is committed to promoting research collaborations, facilitate student and faculty exchange programs, and encourage the sharing of resources. With a dedicated focus on global health, this partnership seeks to advance knowledge and expertise in this critical field while incorporating the utilization of Geographic Information System for effective initiatives.
