SLSU is Top 5 in AACCUP's ranking of SUCs; lone from EV
Among the 111 members of the state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the country, the Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) ranked fifth in terms of percentage of accredited programs, with a 100 percent rate similar to that of other universities that made it in the top 5.
The results of the ranking were based and presented on the annual publication of Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., Consolidated List of Institutions and Programs Granted Accreditation Status, 1992-2019.
SLSU is the only SUC from Eastern Visayas (EV) to make it to the list.
Other SUCs that made it to the to top 10 are Cebu Normal University, Tarlac State University, Jose Memorial State University, Partido State University, Cagayan State University, Batangas State University, Mariano State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology.
The main mission of AACCUP is to make the attainment of quality in education an integral part of the higher education systems more particularly among chartered SUCs, through a sustained program of internal and external assessment. It focuses on the accreditation of curricular programs in SUCs in the Philippines.
