SLSU Bontoc SAS Champion Dr. Dadios Receives Gawad PAPSAS Award
Dr. Peter June Dadios, Head of Student and Auxilliary Services (SAS) at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Bontoc Campus, participated in the 2nd General Assembly and the inaugural Gawad Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS) 2024.
The event, held on November 27-28, 2024, at the Sabin Resort Hotel in Ormoc, brought together key figures in student affairs to discuss advancements in the field and recognize outstanding contributions. The PAPSAS gathering provided a platform for networking and learning among the region’s most dedicated student affairs practitioners.
Alongside Dr. Dadios, SLSU Bontoc was represented by a team of passionate SAS practitioners, including Mr. Jilden Añavesa, NSTP Facilitator; Ms. Sheila Amparo, Scholarship Coordinator; Kathlyn Morales, Admission Officer; and Associate Professor Sherwin Caday, Sports Development Coordinator. Their participation underscores SLSU Bontoc’s commitment to advancing student welfare and fostering an environment of growth for both students and staff.
The event featured insightful talks by prominent speakers, including Prof. Maria Charito L. Suyom on “Fostering Inclusivity: Implementing Diversity and Equity in Student Services”, Dr. Marlon Maglipas on “Assessment and Evaluation in Student Affairs: Measuring Program Effectiveness”, and Dr. Ralph J. Quiblat on “Effective Communication in Student Affairs: Building Relationships with Students.” These sessions provided valuable strategies and insights to enrich the practice of student affairs professionals across the region.
At the event, Dr. Dadios was honored with the prestigious Gawad PAPSAS Award in recognition of his outstanding five (5) years of dedicated service as an advocate for SAS. Throughout his tenure, he has held several key positions, including Cultural Affairs Coordinator, SSC Adviser, and SAS Head.
Under his leadership, SLSU Bontoc has made significant strides in enhancing student support services, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for the student community.
The Gawad PAPSAS Award is a testament to Dr. Dadios' unwavering dedication and leadership in student affairs, reflecting his strong commitment to improving the quality of education and student life at SLSU Bontoc.
