SLSU Commends Jannie Fleur V. Oraño for Excellent Oral Presentation Award at ICEIT 2025

Southern Leyte State University proudly congratulates Ms. Jannie Fleur V. Oraño for receiving the Excellent Oral Presentation award in the Generative AI and Language Model Applications session at the 14th International Conference on Educational and Information Technology (ICEIT 2025), held in Guangzhou, China, from March 14 to 16, 2025.
Her presentation, “Analyzing the Landscape of Generative and Open AI in Education: A Text Analytics Exploration of Scopus Publications,” was recognized for its insightful analysis and contribution to the field. The study, co-authored with Dr. James Arnold Nogra and Dr. Geraldine B. Mangmang, provided a valuable perspective on the evolving role of AI in education.
By addressing the intersection of AI and education, Ms. Oraño’s research contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Her work highlights how emerging technologies can enhance learning, drive digital transformation, and strengthen global academic collaboration—reinforcing SLSU’s mission to advance research and innovation for a more sustainable future.
