SLSU Main Campus Conducts Online MOA Signing with Liga ng mga Barangay-San Juan for SLSU CARES Extension Project
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Main Campus formally strengthens its partnership with the Liga ng mga Barangay-San Juan through an online Memorandum of Agreement signing for the implementation of the SLSU CARES: Community Action for Resilience, Empowerment, and Sustainability extension project.
The online ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement is held on May 15, 2026, bringing together the barangay captains of San Juan headed by Liga ng mga Barangay President Hon. Raymund Q. Vasquez, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Publication, and Extension, Engr. Jonelle H. Tablada, Director for Extension and Community Outreach, together with the activity leaders and coordinators of the extension project.
The program formally opens with the welcome remarks of Liga ng mga Barangay Vice President Hon. Castulo. During the program, Engr. Tablada presents an overview of the SLSU CARES extension project, highlighting its objectives, priority activities, and expected impact on partner communities.
Dr. Sy delivers her words of support, emphasizing the importance of collaborative and community-responsive extension programs in promoting resilience, empowerment, and sustainable development. Hon. Vasquez also shares his words of commitment and expresses the Liga ng mga Barangay-San Juan’s support for the successful implementation of the project.
The program concludes with the closing remarks delivered by Liga ng mga Barangay Secretary Hon. Empeño.
Through this partnership, SLSU and the Liga ng mga Barangay-San Juan aim to strengthen community participation, enhance local capacities, and promote inclusive and sustainable development across the municipality.
