SLSU Conducts Pre-Departure Orientation for CETS 2025 in TVU, Vietnam

On February 18, 2025, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) held a pre-departure orientation meeting for the upcoming Conference on Education and Training for Sustainability 2025 (CETS 2025) at the Tra Vinh University in Vietnam. The orientation, held at the conference hall, aimed to prepare the selected faculty members for the international conference and cultural engagement scheduled on March 13-17, 2025.
CETS 2025 is an international conference focused on sustainable education practices, with particular emphasis on Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This year, SLSU is honored to co-host the event alongside Tra Vinh University (TVU), providing a platform for SLSU to both share and learn from global practices in sustainable education. The conference fosters international collaboration, allowing for the exchange of educational strategies and innovations.
Dr. Mark Galdo, Head of the Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (RIES), served as the keynote speaker during the orientation. The orientation covered topics such as an overview of CETS 2025, travel and logistical guidelines, cultural and academic preparations, and an open forum with a Q&A session. Also, Dr. Ingrid Uy, the ELIA Director, finalized the travel arrangements for the attending faculty members. Selected faculty from SLSU will present their research during the conference, including Dr. Clemente Cobilla, Dr. Marie Khul Langub, Dr. Mark Galdo, Dr. Marvin Daguplo, Dr. Joey Caraquil, Dr. Stella Maris Consul, Dr. Violeta Felisilda, Dr. Pritzel Lee Capili, and Mr. Jayson Orais.
The activity aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, as it promotes academic exchange and global collaboration for sustainable education practices. The conference offers SLSU an opportunity to showcase its unique practices, engage in international partnerships, and contribute to the global dialogue on sustainability in education.
