SLSU holds practicum debriefing for BSIT Immersion Program participants in SDC, Da Nang, Vietnam

Southern Leyte State University conducted a practicum debriefing for BSIT students who participated in the immersion program at the Software Development Center in University of Da Nang, Vietnam. The virtual event was held on July 9, 2025, via Zoom.
The program began with a welcome message from Ms. Irene Marcel H. Lagua, Head of AA-All, who acknowledged the significance of international immersion in shaping globally competitive IT professionals.
This was followed by a recap of the immersion program delivered by Dr. Rhoderick D. Malangsa, accompanying faculty and Head of the IT Master’s Program. He highlighted the students’ engagement in software development practices and cross-cultural collaboration.
A student sharing session featured testimonials from Craig Nathan R. Picardal, Josiah Joed G. Getes, Denje L. Laroza, Jennibeth Mangawang, and Ken Johnzent Palaria, who reflected on their personal and professional growth throughout the program.
The Reflective Processing / Debrief Proper was facilitated by Ms. Mona Rea C. Cagurol from the Student Auxiliary Services – Guidance Office, helping students internalize their experiences and draw meaningful insights.
A message of appreciation was delivered by a student representative, expressing gratitude to the university, faculty, and partner institution for making the program possible. The event concluded with a closing message from Dr. Czarina Ancella G. Gabi, Dean of FCSIT, who commended the students for their dedication and encouraged them to build on the experiences gained during the immersion.
The debriefing served as a reflective and meaningful conclusion to the students’ international academic journey.
