SLSU Library Director Leads TULLIP Re-Echo Trainings to Empower Staff and Elevate Services

As part of her re-entry plan from the prestigious Transforming University Library Leadership and Innovation Programme (TULLIP) Fellowship held in Singapore last January 2025, Ms. Geanrose L. Colonia, Director of Learning Commons and Library Services, spearheaded a series of TULLIP Re-Echo Training Sessions for library personnel across Southern Leyte State University.
Held both on-site and online, the sessions took place on June 11 and 13, 2025, through face-to-face interactions at the General Reading Area, University Library-Learning Commons, and continued virtually on June 25-26, 2025, via Jitsi Meet. Participants included library staff from the Main Campus as well as librarians and support staff from SLSU’s external campuses.
The initiative aimed to cascade the key insights, best practices, and innovative strategies Ms. Colonia gained through the TULLIP Fellowship. These sessions focused on innovative library leadership, modern service delivery models, user-centered design, and digital transformation in academic libraries.
By aligning these learnings with the university’s broader mission of innovation and academic excellence, the re-echo sessions also contribute to the advancement of the United Nations SDG 4: Quality Education. The program strengthens the capacity of library professionals to support teaching, learning, and research, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to knowledge resources for all.
Through the TULLIP Re-Echo Training Sessions, SLSU reinforces its commitment to empowering its library workforce and upholding global education standards, ensuring that its learning support services continue to play a vital role in nurturing a future-ready academic community.
