Southern Leyte State University Conducts Successful Benchmarking on Micro-Credential Program Offering
Southern Leyte State University's Benchmarking Team successfully conducted a three-day benchmarking activity from December 2 to 4, 2024. Spearheaded by the Office of the Director of Instruction, the initiative aimed to align the university’s micro-credential programs with the proposed guidelines from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The activity focused on developing stackable and non-stackable micro-credentials that meet industry demands, align with the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF), and promote lifelong learning. These credentials are designed to provide learners with flexible and specialized skills, fostering employability and career advancement.
The success of the activity was a collaborative effort by the members of the benchmarking team, including Dr. Mark Donald Oja, Director of Instruction; Leo Omamalin, Supervising Administrative Officer; Dr. Ruth Medilo, Director of the Office of the University Registrar; Czarina Gabi, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology; Gerald Ceniza, Dean of the Faculty of Criminal Justice; Faith Gomba, Personnel of the University Quality Assurance Office; and Ezekiel Elisan, Personnel of the Office of the External Linkages and International Affairs. Their collective expertise and dedication underscore Southern Leyte State University's commitment to educational innovation and quality. The insights gained from the benchmarking activity will be instrumental in enhancing the university’s micro-credential offerings and solidifying its leadership in higher education.
