Project ARAL 2.0: Enhancing Data Analytics Competence for Advanced Research Takes Off
The Southern Leyte State University - Tomas Oppus (SLSU-TO) Science and Mathematics Programs spearheaded a comprehensive training workshop on Data Management and Analysis at MLG College of Learning at Hilongos Leyte on December 4, 2024, as part of the ARAL 2.0 Extension Activity series.
Project ARAL is the brainchild of SLSU-TO's commitment to equipping faculty members and researchers in the basic and higher education sectors with a foundational and innovative research culture.
Ms. Marilou L. Masing and Dr. Marvin S. Daguplo, both prominent statisticians and researchers for the Math Education program, took charge of yesterday's quantitative and qualitative data analysis lectures, respectively. They facilitated the participants' selection and application of the most appropriate statistical analysis tool and provided insights on the presentation and discussion of the results.
Throughout their working progress, Dr. Joey A. Caraquil, program chair of Mathematics Education, along with Ms. Collen Antonette Cabahug, a Visiting Instructor for Mathematics, provided scaffolding for statistical and technical aspects. Ms. Marry-Ann S. Geverola and Ivan S. Sajol joined the facilitating team to represent SciMath Society.
The workshop ended with the six participating groups presenting their results, evidently bearing a sense of pride and ownership as they reached the finish line. As each group took the stage, the facilitators and their fellow participants took notes on improvement, which will be their reference for the next session.
This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, as it focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of educators and researchers to improve the quality of education and research in the community.
