Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy Showcases SLSU Innovations at DOST Region VIII Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week 2026

Demonstrating Southern Leyte State University's growing role in advancing science, technology, and innovation in Eastern Visayas, Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Publication, and Extension (VPRIPE), serves as one of the distinguished resource speakers during the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VIII 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW).

Dr. Sy joins a select group of only eight experts and innovators from across the region who share their knowledge and best practices during the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Forum – Session 3: "Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Energy and Emerging Digital Innovations," held on July 17, 2026, at the Level 2 Activity Area, Robinsons North Mall, Tacloban City, Leyte.

Dr. Sy delivers a presentation on the Technologies and Innovations Developed by Southern Leyte State University, highlighting the University's significant research and innovation initiatives that address community needs, support sustainable development, and promote technology transfer. She showcases SLSU's diverse portfolio of technologies and innovations, which stem from interdisciplinary research and strong collaboration with government agencies, industry partners, and local communities. She emphasizes how these innovations contribute to sustainable energy solutions, digital transformation, smart governance, resilient communities, climate adaptation, and inclusive regional development.

The STI Forum serves as a platform for leading scientists, researchers, innovators, and policymakers to exchange ideas and showcase breakthroughs that contribute to the country's innovation agenda.
