Southern Leyte State University–Tomas Oppus conducts monitoring and evaluation for Project Write It Right this May 19, 2026, in selected barangays of LGU Tomas Oppus. The activity is spearheaded by the University Monitoring and Evaluation Head, Ms. Adelfa Diola, together with the SLSU-TO Extension Services staff: Ms. Ma. Jovillea T. Palanca, Extension Coordinator; Mr. Clint Mate, Clerk; and Mr. Jayson Orais, Project Leader, from the English Education program. The team visits selected barangays to interview barangay officials and assess the project’s implementation, outcomes, and overall impact on participants.

Project Write It Right is designed to improve the writing skills of barangay officials through targeted training sessions on crafting formal letters, resolutions, ordinances, and activity proposals. The project aims to empower local government officials with the essential skills needed to produce clear, accurate, and professional documents necessary for effective governance.

During the monitoring, barangay officials share positive feedback regarding the project’s impact on their ability to prepare official documents. Many participants highlight increased confidence and improved technical writing skills, allowing them to carry out their administrative responsibilities more effectively.

The team also reviews the participants’ outputs and their current barangay documents, which include formal letters, resolutions, ordinances, and activity proposals. This process provides valuable insights into the practical application of the skills gained during the training.

According to the Extension Services Office, the monitoring activity ensures that Project Write It Right continues to meet its objectives while identifying areas for enhancement and possible expansion to benefit more local government units in the future.

Through initiatives such as Project Write It Right, SLSU-Tomas Oppus continues to strengthen its extension services by fostering collaboration with local communities and promoting excellence in public service communication.
