AGS and GRASSO Organizations Organize Effective Communication and Goal-Setting Skills Webinar

Association of Graduate Students (AGS) and graduate School Association (GRASSO) organizations organized a webinar entitled "Mastering Communication and Goal Setting: Tips for Successful Graduate Student Leaders" last November 22, 2022, through Google Meet. The webinar aimed to equip graduate student leaders with practical strategies for effective communication and goal setting.

The webinar featured Ms. Mona Rea Cabalo, expert in the field of leadership development and communication. Ms. Cabalo shared her expertise and insights on how graduate student leaders can become effective communicators and goal setters.

Participants learned about different communication styles and how to adapt to them in different situations. They also learned how to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals that can help them achieve their academic and professional objectives.

One of the key takeaways from the webinar was the importance of effective communication in leadership roles. Graduate student leaders need to be able to communicate their vision and goals clearly to their team members and stakeholders so they can inspire their team to work towards a common goal and achieve success. Impressions from participants were increased knowledge and understanding of effective communication and goal-setting strategies. They were also able to identify and apply practical tips and strategies for effective communication and goal setting in their leadership roles. Moreover, participants reported that they were able to apply the knowledge gained from the webinar to their academic and professional endeavors and make positive contributions to their communities.
