Southern Leyte State University Holds Multidisciplinary Research Congress to Showcase Graduate Students' Scholarly Work
Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) is set to hold a Graduate School Multidisciplinary Research Congress on May 11, 2019, in compliance with the mandate of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to meet global quality standards in dissertation and thesis projects of graduate students.
The research congress will provide an opportunity for SLSU's graduate students to present the research they conducted under the supervision of their faculty advisers. The congress aims to showcase the scholarly work of graduating students and choose the best thesis, dissertation, and tactical plan. It also aims to publicly present the students' scientific results from their thesis, dissertation, and implementation of tactical plan projects.
SLSU recognizes the importance of scholarly work and its impact on the progress of the institution. Most subjects taken by students require research papers to hone their research writing skills, as it is the university's mission to generate breakthrough research in science and technology.
The congress will further benefit the institution by fostering and nurturing the research culture of SLSU. Experts will be invited to serve as evaluators and choose the best thesis, dissertation, and tactical plan, which will be awarded during the commencement exercises.
The congress will facilitate the participation of graduating students who are employed in different sectors and faculty advisers. The expected outcomes of the activity include presenting and defending thesis, dissertation, and implementation of tactical plan projects, fostering a culture of research and scholarship among graduate students, enhancing the reputation of SLSU, generating new ideas and collaborations, and encouraging professional development.
SLSU's Graduate School Multidisciplinary Research Congress is a valuable initiative that will contribute to the development of human resources and build a quality nation for improved productivity and global competitiveness, meeting the standards set by CHED for higher education institutions.
